I find the system of waiting, sometimes hours, for a faceless doctor to ring back to decide whether you really need an sppointment both stressful and inadequate. And it can be enbarrassing discussing symptoms within earshot of others. And then to be fobbed off with an appointment with a nurse, who recommends over-the-counter remedies, must mean that many genuine illnesses are going undiagnosed and untreated.

Used to be excellent, however since introducingthe telephone conversation before appointment is frustrating and delays seeing a doctor or nurse. Also takes a long time so far I have waited 5.5 hours for a call from gp, do likelyhood of appointment today is slim

I have been a patient of the pracice since a child, receptionists, GP's, nursing team all do an amazing jobs in this very difficult time for the NHS. I contacted the surgery to arrange and appointment with the practice nurse and also to arrange for a prescription. I informed the receptionist that I needed my father to bring me to the surgery as I am unable to drive at this moment in time and I was offered an appointment that would work well for me. The receptionist was very pleasant, professional and caring. I was then transferred to the medicines team and again first class service, my paperwork had been sent to the pracice from Kendal hospital and the team were able to issues a script and send electronically to the pharmacy of my choice to be collected later that day. I needed to speak to my GP later that week and phoned the surgery to arrange an appointment, after speaking to the receptionist she explained the surgery had altered the way the offered appointment and I was informed the GP would contact me back that morning. I received a call around 10.30 and Dr Marshall was extremely helpful and arranged for a script to be forwarded that day again to local chemist. This new triage system worked brilliantly for me as I would struggle to get In to the surgery. I really do feel like the whole pracice offered me the best service available to me, and are constantly striving to offer patient to top class service in this difficult time for the NHS. Thanks BIrbeck and well done.

You can't get to see a doctor, let alone the one your registered with. Make an appointment and you get to see a nurse. I wish to change my registered doctor to one who I can actually get an appointment with as I am not happy with my current doctor.
